Schircks Laboratories, Switzerland was founded by Dr. B. Schircks in 1980 to synthesize pteridines. The company is independently owned and operated. Schircks Laboratories has ceased production of tetrahydrobiopterin. Biomarin has taken over the US market and Merck Serono the European market. They will continue to expand. They are responsible for the supply of tetrahydrobiopterin (Sapropterin dihydrochloride) in tablet form (Kuvan).
Over 100 other pteridines are synthesized by Schircks Laboratories which are mainly used in science and clinical diagnostic applications. We are constantly developing and improving syntheses and starting new syntheses to meet the demands of research and development groups worldwide.
